As of writing this post, It’s hard to find enough scientific proof about D10 THC, what it does, is safe, and more. Insufficient evidence exists, and it may also be because people aren’t looking at the correct data and often base their opinion on misleading information.
So what do we know? We know that anecdotal reports suggest that this compound can provide a more energized and uplifting “high.” Delta 10 THC intoxication is milder than Delta 9 THC intoxication, but compared to Delta 8 THC, this cannabinoid tends to be more nootropic while Delta 8 is more sedating; less likely to result in anxiety or paranoia. Feedback from customers also indicates that delta 10 is favorited as a daytime compound than delta 8 TC, which most prefer to use in the evening hours.

State laws prohibit the sales of Delta 8 THC and Delta 10 THC Products.
Colorado State has banned hemp-derived Delta 8 THC and THC isomers, including Delta 10 and other cannabinoids.
The hemp industry has been working hard to ensure these bans don’t happen, but it’s unclear if their efforts will pay off in time before more states follow suit.
Regulated industrial hemp products in Colorado are illegal and not allowed to be modified or converted chemically, meaning Delta 8 and Delta 10 products are automatically illegal on a state level.
According to the Colorado Health Department, this started with a notice on this subject after receiving an inquiry from a company considering using solvents and other harmful substances to convert cannabinoids found in industrial hemp into concentrated oil for use vape carts. There’s not enough research and controlled restrictions in place to guarantee consumers’ safety.
Colorado is an excellent state for hemp CBD products. The Centennial State has strict standards on growing and processing hemp, which means any hemp-related product with THC over 0.30% can’t be sold here. Our products come from industrial hemp with less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC on a dry weight basis and are made from hemp plants with detectable THC levels below the legal limit.
The only condition is that it’s grown in Colorado.
Colorado law is apparent on this. Under state law, any hemp material or product that contains over 0.3% THC and its isomers are theoretically classified as marijuana.
The state law doesn’t exempt THC derived from hemp from the legal definition of marijuana.
Consequently, retailers cannot sell Delta 8 and Delta 10 THC in Colorado’s food, drinks, or dietary supplements.
Delta 10 THC is a synthetic cannabinoid that has many of the same effects as marijuana. It’s considered legal in some states because it doesn’t contain any actual cannabinoids; however, drug tests can detect it, as it is a THC compound. The legality of Delta 10 THC on a federal level is complicated primarily because of how it’s made.
The DEA considers Delta 10 THC illegal since they classify anything that contains no classifiable medical use and isn’t approved for human consumption as a banned substance. However, there are no legal options for purchasing them online or through other means, so this isn’t an issue at all!
The process of manufacturing Delta 10 THC is more complex. Chemists convert Delta 8 from hemp-derived CBD through isomerization or conversion of one compound into another.
Making the most potent type, Delta 10 THC, starts with a precursor called cannabigerol acid (CBGA). CBGA can be derived from natural sources like whole fresh plants and dried flowers, but it’s usually produced by chemical synthesis in a lab for commercial purposes.
Delta 10 is a recent discovery. It’s an artificial cannabinoid that doesn’t exist in the cannabis plant and can be made synthetically by chemically modifying its structure, unlike Delta 8, which can be found in some percentage of the plant.
This chemical reaction has been heavily researched because it could help with many medical conditions such as chronic pain and epilepsy. However, scientists are still unsure how safe this compound is when consumed by humans who have never taken it before.
Delta 10 is considered a controlled substance because while it does not fall into any of the five classes of controlled substances, it is looked at as an analog drug.
The law states that “analog” is defined as a compound, not listed in any schedule of controlled substances, with a structure substantially similar to that of a drug listed in the schedule or having stimulant or depressant effects on the central nervous system that are substantially similar to those of a drug listed in the schedules.
Colorado adds to this definition by stating that a drug must also have “a high potential for abuse,” lack of safety for use in treatment under medical supervision, and not lead to the same effects as alternatives in medical treatment.
It is important to note that Delta 10 does not fall into any one category, and therefore it is considered an analog drug, not a scheduled drug.
With insufficient evidence, research on Delta 10 still being immature, and products still being tested. We are unsure what the future holds for this cannabinoid. Who knows, you may see D10 as a preferred option with less risk than other related THC products.
