While Delta 8 THC is more intoxicating than Delta 9 THC, it also has less physical high and psychoactive effects.

State Laws and Delta 10 THC

Until Iowa changes its law, Delta 10 is currently illegal, while it’s still being legal federally. This mildly psychoactive cannabinoid has a similar pharmacological activity to tetrahydrocannabinols, subject to the same penalties as all other cannabinoids under current laws.

Delta 10 THC and Federal Law

The Farm Bill legalized hemp and removed “tetrahydrocannabinols in hemp” from the federal list of controlled substances — making all hemp THCs (including naturally occurring Delta 8 and Delta 10) federally legal. The Act also allows businesses and consumers to taste the benefits of this plant.

The DEA’s Interim Rule released late August 2020 confirmed that synthetic tetrahydrocannabinols, or THC, are illegal. This includes Delta 10 THC, which is heavily processed and considered semi-synthetic but not the synthetic equivalents of truly synthetic substances like Spice and K2.

In What States Is Delta 10 Legal?

The hemp-friendly states include; Alabama, California, FloridaGeorgiaHawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

If you are in any of these states, you can enjoy your hemp, Delta 8, Delta 9, Delta 10, and all products legally. However, some of the states do have restrictions involved. For example, in California, you can only enjoy your hemp-derived THC if there is a maximum of 0.30% THC total dry weight. So make sure you look into each state before you end up buying your THC.

History of Delta 10 THC

Delta 10 THC started in California. A company from Adelanto, CA, went to buy some hemp plants. But they accidentally bought a fire-retardant-contaminated product.

It made strange crystals start to form after distillation. They noticed that it had a different structure than other cannabinoid crystals. It turns out it was tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

Thanks to this fortunate accident, we now have Delta 10 THC.

That said, there’s evidence it goes back to the 1980s, where it was said to be first discovered, according to Wikipedia.

The Future of Delta 10 THC in Iowa

What does the future hold for illegal Delta 10 THC in Iowa? Right now, the future doesn’t look too bright. Iowa considers any hemp-derived THC products to remain illegal in their state.

Maybe someone can find a legal loophole, and the laws can change but till then, wait patiently.
